Divorce Financial Mediation Group members are experienced financial professionals with specialized divorce financial mediation experience. All members are Certified Divorce Financial Analysts™ (CDFA) with a minimum of 8-years of divorce specific financial training. DFMG members are either Certified Public Accountants or Financial Planners.

The Divorce Financial Mediation process provides a safe, creative environment to help divorcing couples understand and explore their immediate and long-term financial options that will affect their lives going forward. Discussions regarding the financial issues are not just about the numbers. Our members recognize that there is often emotional value involved and work with the parties to ensure that this is both acknowledged and taken into consideration.

As third-party “neutral “ financial advisors, Divorce Financial Mediators help both parties develop a better understanding of their financial options and the impact of their decisions through the development of reader-friendly reports (Living Expenses, Property Settlement, After-Tax Cash Flow and Net Worth). The reports are often incorporated into the financial disclosures required by the Courts and thus contribute to the reduction of professional fees. (Referrals to other professionals as needed.)

Divorce Financial Mediation Group (DFMG) is an Unincorporated Association formed under the guidelines of California Corporations Code Section 18200 to educate the public on the benefits of using a Divorce Financial Mediator to mediate the financial components of a divorce or domestic partner dissolution.

DFMG members are independent sole-practitioners. They are only responsible for the direct services they provide and do not supervise, take responsibility for, or assume liability for, the services provided by any other member.
